Kerala Ration Card Types

There are four types of ration cards issued in the state of Kerala, they are

1. Priority Ration Card – This ration card colour is pink and is issued to families of below poverty line. Government has most of its focus on this category only because it will cover the most vulnerable population of the state. This ration card is also called BPL ration card
2. Subsidy Ration Card – The colour of this ration card is blue, the ration which is supplied by the government will be distributed at PDS ration shops at cheaper rates
3. Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card – These ration cards are are issued mainly to the weaker section and backward class people of Kerala state. AAY ration cards are yellow in colour
4. Non-Priority Ration Card – The white colour non-subsidy non-priority card is issued to the families who are above the poverty line.

Offline Manual Method For Kerala Ration Card

If you want to follow the manual offline method then you have two options to go with

1. Akshaya Ration Card Service Centre
2. Taluk Supply Offices (TSO) /District Supply Offices (DSO)

Akshaya Ration Card Service Centre

If you do not have internet access or you cannot fill the online application on your own then you can visit the Akshaya Centers in any part of the state and follow the procedure given below

• After you reach nearby Akshaya centre, ask the Kerala ration card application form
• Now, carefully, fill the form, if you have any queries ask the authorized person of the centre, he/she will assist you in filling it
• Check all the required documents to be attached, don’t miss any important column or else your ration card can be rejected
• Attach the digitized passport size photograph

Taluk Supply Offices (TSO) /District Supply Offices (DSO)

If you live in a rural area of the state, then you can visit the TSO/DSO office for application of a new ration card

• It contains information of 14 districts with details like total cards, total beneficiaries, AAY, PHH Non-Priority State Subsidy, Non-Priority Non-Subsidy, Electrified and Non-Electrified
• Now, click on any one district from the list, it will open the ‘TSO Level Report‘ which has city ration office details of each taluk
• After that, click on any ‘Taluk‘, it will open a list of ‘ARD Level Report’ with ARD numbers

Scheme Wise Allotment of Subsidy Ration

To search for allotment of subsidy ration on your ration card, then follow the steps given below

• Firstly, visit the aadhaar enabled public distribution system portal
• On the homepage, click on the ‘Allotment’ option
• In the drop-down menu, select ‘Scheme Wise Allotment‘

Know Your Nearest Fair Price Shop (FPS) Details For Ration

To know your nearest FPS details, follow the steps given below

• Firstly, AePDS portal of the civil supplied department
• On the homepage, click on the ‘FPS’ option
• Under the drop-down menu, click on the first option ‘FPS Details‘
• A new page will open with a list of districts, total shops, mapped shops and not mapped shops
• Now, click on any District and it will show AFSO name, total shops, mapped shops and not mapped shops

• In the next step, click on any AFSO name and it will display the ARD number, total Kerala ration cards, license, owner name, mobile, latitude, longitude and current status of the shop

Give Up The Ration Card

• If you are self-reliant then you can give up your ration card
• On the homepage of the civil supplies department, you will find the option of ‘Give Up Ration ‘
• Click on that, a new page will open on your screen
• Now, enter your 10 digit ration card number and enter the captcha code
• Finally, click on the submit button
• Once you give up your ration card, you can apply for the new ration only after 6 months. If the card belongs to AAY, priority and general category (subsidy) category, it will be transferred to the general category after giving up the ration.
